WOM = WORD OF MOM: Moms do the buzzing
Did you know:
- 67% of moms would rather get information from a peer mom like themselves than a celebrity mom
- 80% of moms go online to do their consumer research
- 88% of moms said they rely on the Web for parental guidance, advice, and ideas for raising their children
So what does this mean? It means that word of ‘mom’ and social media are critical in marketing to today’s mom.
We saw this in action this week at the Mommmies Who Shop Holiday Market Event. Buzz for the event spread quickly through blogs like Boston Handmade, through Twitter and Facebook and the like, and through moms talking to other moms…
The event itself focused on products made by moms themselves! Papa Products 1Z’s and the amazing and eco-friendly clothing by The Measure were huge hits!
The atmosphere really highlighted what the statistics implied – moms were informing, listening and learning. All this on the backdrop of great food (still thinking about those red velvet cupcakes) and great wine (the pinot so complimented the warm artichoke and spinach dip), what could be better?
Sorry you missed it? Well then, get online and get connected:
