Giving back…it’s the new black
After attending the amazing Room to Grow Gala this weekend in Boston we thought we’d dedicate this week’s blog to recognizing the cultural shift that has happened in the past few years.
The shift is from “me here and now” to “us in the future ”.
From caring about our carbon footprint to supporting fair trade in business to just wanting to give back. It has become clear – we care. And doesn’t it feel so good?
Here are some of the not-so-subtle hints that helped us come to this conclusion:
Philanthropy is no longer just for those with deep pockets. Companies large and small are incorporating giving into their products and their mission – Bugaboo Red and GoGaga
President Obama has made a commitment to forming a Social Entrepreneurship Agency.
Giving has become a social networking challenge! See for yourself at skip1.org and thanks Chris Brogan for turning us on to this.
Like all of you, Rhoost cares too – that’s why our childproofing products, and packaging are made from 100% recyclable materials.
Ali Wing, founder and CEO of Giggle has some great thoughts on social responsibility and business…
