Kind and Jugend 2010
We spent the majority of last week at the Kind and Jugend Show in Koln Germany. It was our first time attending but we’re sure it won’t be the last.
Some of our favorite moments included seeing the brand new Bugaboo Donkey Double Stroller. The woman doing the demo was handling that stroller like a Vegas dealer handles a deck of cards – we couldn’t help but wonder if she was training for ABC.
Last year at the ABC Show – Oxo launched Its new juvenile brand called Oxo Tots and it does not disappoint, from the logo and branding to the products, we love their stuff!
A little closer to home, it was great to see our friends from Zoli Baby exhibiting at the show and we were thrilled about their K+J Innovation Award nomination for the Buzz B nail trimmer. It is a brilliant solution for safely trimming little nails.
We may even have made time for a Kolsch beer or two…
Now we are gearing up for ABC 2010!

Safety Month Week 2: Resources You Might Not Know About
As we head out to Cologne Germany for the Kind and Jugend show, we thought we’d share some really cool home and baby safety resources you may not know about…
Safekids.org: This site is great overall, but we really like that they have a monthly product recall email you can sign up for. Not only does it save you time, but you also don’t have to worry about missing anything.
Teach your kids about safety with these cool videos thanks to the home safety council. We especially love these because they are available in English and Spanish!
If you’re just starting out childproofing can seem like a daunting task. Our advice is to start with the basics to ensure the key areas are taken care of – this great video from Classy Mom on the basics should help get you started!
Once you have the basics done, this very cool interactive tool from my safe home is a great way to make sure you have everything else covered.
If you’re still feeling a bit unsure, consider hiring a professional child-proofer. The International Association for Child Safety has a tool to help you find one in your area.

Safety Month Week 1 : A Good Night’s Sleep
As parents and caregivers, we spend a lot of time ensuring our kids safety during the waking hours – when curious hands, active bodies, and exploring minds are busy discovering the world. We breathe a sigh of relief when the PJs are on and the lights are off. But did you know that each year hundreds of deaths occur when children are placed in a sleep environment not designed for them?
That’s why this year JPMA, the sponsor of Baby Safety Month, is focusing on educating parents and caregivers on creating a safe sleeping environment. In fact they are so serious about it that they’ve created a website called Make Every Night a Safe Night. Another great source is the International Association for Child Safety.
On these websites you can find out everything you’ll need to know to ensure your little one gets a good night’s sleep!
